After graduating from the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I began my career as a graphic artist in Washington, D.C.  During my term as an art director, in an area ad agency, I discovered that I would rather execute the art, that I hired other illustrators to produce, than direct it.  So, in 1990 I began freelance illustration and I've never looked back.

I've always tried to adapt to the changing needs and visions of my clients, and, as you can see I employ a variety of stylistic approaches to solve visual problems.  Along the way my work has appeared in publications and sites as varied as The National Wildlife Federation; U.S. Savings Bonds; The Jefferson Patterson Museum, Maryland; Washington Technology; John Wiley & Sons Publishing; National Geographic Traveler Magazine; Bartleby Press; Newsweek; The Franklin Mint; The National Air & Space Museum; NASA; Gannett Publishing and numerous association publications.

I've been privileged and honored to receive recognition from the Society of Illustrators; the Illustrators Club of Washington, Maryland and Virginia; DESI of New York; Graphics International; Print's Regional Design Annual; the Art Directors Club of Washington plus appearances in numberous shows and exhibits.
